Inputing an ISBN

Using EasyBarcode is easy, simply input your ISBN or ISBN-13 number and the barcode is automatically generated. The ISBN input does support hyphenated numbers and inputing a ISBN-10 number will automatically generate the apropriate ISBN-13 number.

Tweaking Your Barcode

You can adjust several components of your ISBN barcode.

By using the "ISBN" and "Price" checkboxes, you can enable or disable the display of the textual ISBN number and of the price supplement barcode.

By entering a value in the "Price" textbox, you can control the contents of the price supplement, which is defined as follows:

  • First digit is "5" for $US
  • First digit is "4" for $CAN
  • Last four digits are price * 100
  • use 59999 (or 49999 etc.) for price of $100 or more
  • 90000-98999 for internal use (BISG recommends
  • 90000 if no price designated and 5 digit code not used for internal use)
  • 99000-99999 reserved for industry-wide use.
  • 99990-99999 reserved for Nat'l Ass'n of College Stores (NACS)
  • 99990 = NACS used books 99991 = NACS desk copies

You can also adjust the height of the barcode by selecting one of the entries from the "Height" radio button.

You can now also add the title of the book within the generated barcode by modifying the "Title" text box. The use of the title is optional and can be disabled by inputing an empty title.

Exporting Your Barcode

To export your barcode, select the wanted file format from the drop-down list and click the "Export" button. A dialog box will prompt you for the file name which to be used. Note that the barcode is generated with 100% magnification. You can scale the barcode based on your needs, but the barcode standards restricts magnification to between 80%-200%.

When exporting to image formats such as BMP or JPG, you can adjust the resolution at which the barcode is generated by using the "DPI" drop-down list. For best reproduction, it is recommended you use at least 200 DPI (Dot Per Inch).

Note that for best reproduction, you should export your barcodes as PDF files. The barcode within a PDF file is saved in vector form which ensures accurate reproduction at any magnification level

Registering EasyBarcode

The trial version of EasyBarcode does not allow the export of barcodes. To get access to all the features of EasyBarcode, you must register this software.

You can register EasyBarcode by purchasing a license HERE.

Once you have purchased a license, you will recieve a serial number by email, which can be input by clicking "Register". Once the serial number is input, EasyBarcode will be fully unlocked and ready to use.
